Dr. Tim's Aquatics started with Dr. Timothy Hovanec who has been involved in the aquarium industry for more than 20 years. He has a Ph.D in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology from the University of California, which is where his research included discovering which bacteria were involved in nitrite oxidization. He is considered as a world expert on nitriffying bacteria. In layman's terms he worked to develop a natural way of maintaining freshwater, and saltwater aquariums.
This company is located in the USA, however the address has not been made public.
Reefaholic has posted in the reefcentral forum: "Dr. Tim has PHD and many people have had success. His bacteria is proven. It's not just some uneducated idiot running their mouth. There's documentation with black and white lettering. It's established. Check it out."
In fact, in addition to Reefaholic, above, many people in aquarium forums are recommending Dr. Tim's products to other people.
Chris Spaulding, from Sealife Aquarium in Tempe Florida says: "The start-up of a public aquarium is a challenging process and time is an important factor in order to meet the opening deadlines. DrTim’s One and Only Bacteria was a critical component in the opening process of our aquarium. It allowed for us to have our systems operating and ready for fish in a matter of days as opposed to weeks or months. I highly recommend the use of this product for the start-up of any aquarium. It will make a huge difference!"
All in all most people were very happy with the products and would recommend them to others.
Although not listed on the BBB there are no complaints filed against Dr. Tim's Aquatics.
